Four Star Freightliner recognizes its top employees

Four Star Freightliner, Inc. recognized its top employees during a recognition celebration on Dec. 12 at the Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort. The top awards for the evening included Employee of the Year, Top Technician, and Salesman of the Year.

Christopher Akridge was named the 2020 Top Technician. After working at Four Star Freightliner’s Albany location for only two years, he emerged as the company’s top-revenue producing technician.

“Chris is dependable, has a great work ethic and is very humble,” said Scott Dixon, Operations Manager. “He is always looking for ways to hone his craft. I expect Chris to be one of Four Star’s top techs for years to come.”

Chad Norris, Truck Account Manager, was recognized as the top salesman of 2020. The award, dubbed the “Top Gun”, was given to Norris who works primarily from our Valley, Ala. location.

David Turner, New Truck Manager, was voted Employee of the Year. His constant leadership and perseverance during a recent battle with cancer made him the top vote-getter.

“David has been an integral part of Four Star since the beginning and he is wound into our DNA,” said Jerry Kocan, Four Star Freightliner Dealer Principal. “No one has been more of an inspiration than he as he has fought his cancer like a champion. He has touched and given his time, money and resources to so many that his grace shines through even in the toughest times.”

Even during his cancer treatments, Turner never stopped working. He has been with the Four Star Freightliner for nearly 20 years and was excited that the team voted for him.

"This is the highest honor you can get from your peers," said Turner. "It makes me extremely proud to be part of Four Star Freightliner and have my peers vote me employee of the year. It's an honor I will never forget."

Led by Terri Felkins, employees at the Valdosta, Ga. location were proud to receive the award for the top Parts Department for 2020. 

The Tifton, Ga. location received the award for Location of the Year, led by Bert Owens, Director of Service and Jason Guess, Parts Manager.
