Four Star awards six scholarships to local high school seniors
Four Star Freightliner is proud to announce that six high school seniors have been awarded the 2020 Zachary Sizemore Memorial Scholarship. The winners are from various high schools across Alabama and Georgia. Recipients were chosen for their academic achievement, demonstrated leadership, and community activities in memory of the Four Star employee.
Sizemore, 32, worked in the accounting department at Four Star Freightliner in Dothan. He lost his battle to cancer in 2016. The scholarship is a way for the company to honor his memory. When choosing recipients, Four Star Freightliner Dealer Principal Jerry Kocan said “I look for a young person who not only has a dream they want to pursue but also a plan. If they have been inspired by Zack’s story or knew Zack or his family, which counts a lot in my book. The Sizemores will forever be family to Four Star Freightliner and me.”
Five out of the six award winners include children of Four Star Freightliner employees and one recipient attends the same high school Sizemore graduated from. The 2020 recipients include:
- Keeley Johnson: Deatsville, AL, Marbury High School
- Jordan Granger: Prattville, AL, Prattville High School
- Chadwick Norris, Jr: Montgomery, AL, Trinity Presbyterian School
- Hailey Earley: LaGrange, GA, Callaway High School
- Bryce Shiver: Columbia, AL, Headland High School
- Carson Herring: Dothan, AL, Rehobeth High School
Each student will receive a one-time $1,000 award applicable to the college of their choosing.
