Four Star Freightliner, Inc. controller Scott Coleson is being promoted to chief financial officer (CFO), effective April 16, 2020. Coleson began his career at Four Star Freightliner as a college intern nine years ago. It was through hard work, training, and the desire to lead that he is now advancing to this new position.

“I am honored to take on the role of CFO of Four Star Freightliner,” Coleson said. “I have spent close to 10 years learning from our former CFO, Gary Imdieke. With the knowledge and support that he has passed onto me, I feel very confident that I can excel in this position.”

Coleson credits Four Star Freightliner with fostering his career. After his internship, he was hired full-time by Four Star Freightliner as staff accountant. It didn’t take him long to figure out a career with the company was something he wanted. He learned the business and then earned his CPA.

He was promoted to senior staff accountant and then to controller for Four Star Freightliner’s seven locations. Coleson is also a graduate of ATD Dealer Academy, which is designed for future operators of truck dealerships and provides the fundamentals needed to operate a successful and profitable business.

“I am very proud of how Scott has developed and has become a Leader for our company,” said Four Star Freightliner Dealer Principal Jerry Kocan. “He is being promoted to a responsibility he earned. I look forward to working with him to lead our company into the future.”

Gary Imdieke, who served Four Star Freightliner for nearly 20 years as CFO, retired in December.
