Josh Nichols named 2019 Top Technician
Four Star Freightliner, Inc. announced its top diesel technician during the company’s annual Year End Employee Celebration at the Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort on Dec. 7.
Josh Nichols, who works from the Montgomery, Ala. location, was named the top revenue-producing technician for 2019. The announcement was made in front of his new wife Hayley, his parents and more than 200 employees and their guests.
“When Josh first came to Four Star in 2011, he was hired to be the porter only,” said Tony Snead, Montgomery service manager. “After just a couple of months we could see his willingness to do more and that has never changed. He is always willing to work and listen. He has become a very good man and a great tech.”
Nichols admits that he did not know much about truck repairs when he was hired. He credits Snead with acknowledging his work ethic and helping him move up the ladder. He said after working as a porter, Snead soon promoted him to a lube tech and later he became completely certified in Freightliner Trucks and Detroit Engines.
“To be named the company’s No. 1 technician might not be a big accomplishment to some people, but it is to me,” said Nichols. “It means a lot because of where I started and what I have become in the past 9 years of being at Four Star. I think it’s great that the company recognizes the technicians in this way to show their appreciation and for that I am thankful.”
For the past two years, Kenneth “Woofie” Woodruff, the Tifton diesel road technician for Four Star Freightliner, held the title of the company’s top technician. He remains the top revenue-producing technician for the Tifton, Ga. location.
